Mental Health needs an all-encompassing approach in which we work with the mind-body system as a whole. Each movement you make creates an electric pulse in a specific area of the brain- each brain region is linked to different thoughts and emotions. In a nutshell our thoughts, feelings and physical symptoms are all intertwined. Only when all three are in harmony (equilibrium) will the mind-body system operate at its optimal level.

Have you ever seen a baby or toddler? Do you remember how fascinated with their own bodies they are? How they find each feature amazing and love to explore it. The baby does this without any judgment just pure admiration.

What would it be like to enjoy your body again? To connect with your physical body and honour it on this journey? The body is important as it holds cellular trauma- cells that literally change and shift due to neurochemicals after the body experiences stress. We see this most predominantly with women after giving birth. The facial structure literally changes after the experience of bringing a soul into this world.

Everything that you experience changes you- the drive to work, a day in your life, a conversation, absolutely everything that your exposed to changes who you are in some way. Therefore, the body shifts constantly- this is why therapy is so important and to realise that there is no end to self-growth. The more you grow and change, the more aspects of yourself you would like to work on. You evolve on the journey. The body needs to be healthy to be at its optimal for survival and a successful life- whatever that may look like for you specifically.

The body requires sleep and pleasure. These are basic needs that will help maintain healthy immune systems, energy for daily tasks and peace to enjoy the positive aspects of life. But you know all this- how much are you implementing it? How much are you connecting with your body and what it is requiring? When last did you honour you?

No matter how much of an amazing cognitive or spiritual journey your having- if you fail your body- it will fail you. Disease, fatigue and flight/fight syndrome will become an autopilot way of living.

In the practice I use various techniques that use your muscles and different aspects of your body to get to the core of what needs to shift, be reactivated and what survival systems need to be deactivated in order to create equilibrium within your cells and your body.
